First Swim of the Season

Today Ray surprised the kids with a trip to the pool! They've been waiting for this, and were SO excited! Kay and I joined them for just a few minutes because it was over 100 degrees out and just too hot to be outside and not in the water. But it was fun to watch the other kids and take a bazillion pictures. Not much has changed since the last time they swam. AJ is still very timid in the water and hesitant to try new things. Drew is completely fearless and loves to jump in and be thrown around by Ray. And Megan just loves the water and would float around all day if we'd let her.

Here is a picture that was taken the day of their first swim LAST year. This was taken on May 19, 2008.

And here they are today. May 18, 2009. (Yes, this is the best one I got. AJ was very unhappy about the bright sun, so I couldn't convince him to give me a good smile.)
