Yesterday our church had a pumpkin patch on the grounds! Each kid got to pick a pumpkin to bring home. Unfortunately, we didn't end up with pictures of the kids with their pumpkins (I'll try to take some later), but we did get some fun ones from the pumpkin patch itself.

Ray has been patiently teaching the boys to ride their bikes, and it seems that they are really catching on! We took them to the park on Saturday, but it ended up being a bit disappointing because we couldn't get to the paved trail. Riding with training wheels on rocks turned out to be a bit of a challenge for the boys, but they did pretty well.

On Friday, our church and school hosted a Harvest party. It was a big to-do with lots of games, food, and fun. The kids had an absolute blast and came home with more candy that I could have imagined. They loved the games, and especially loved the fishing (which was the game sponsored by AJ's class) and the pumpkin bowling. Their absolute favorite thing of the night, though, was the jumper. They were all in there for much of the evening. Just to warn you, there are a million pictures.

I let the kids play in the "grassy area" today. They've been begging for a while now, and it was a gorgeous day. They met some friends while out there. I think the little girl was about AJ's age, but she has Down's Syndrome, so she didn't talk or really want to play with the kids. She did, however, keep coming up to me and smiling. Melted my heart a bit...

And please excuse the fact that there are many more pictures of Megan than of the boys. The boys just couldn't stay still long enough to get many good (or even bad) pictures...

As mentioned in my previous blog entry, the kids all dressed up like cowpeople today. We didn't have anything on hand, so I made parts of their costumes.

Today was a special day at church called "Round Up Sunday". Everyone dressed up in their best western-wear, and after church the festivities began. There was a chili cook-off (which I was not surprised to lose), and horses for the kids to ride.

All week, the boys have been looking forward to "Cowboy day". They were thrilled when I brought home cowboy hats for them (from the thrift store of course), and Drew was so excited to ride a horse. AJ, on the other hand, wasn't so sure about riding a horse. In fact, for several days, he made sure that I knew that he did NOT want to ride a horse and was just going to watch.

Something changed though in the last few days, and he said he was going to try. He did try, and he LOVED it. I think both of the boys would have stayed on those horses all day long if we would have let them. True cowboys at heart, I suppose.

I made parts of their costumes, but will make a separate post about that in a bit. Here are the pictures from the day.

I made a scoodie for Megan.

There was big excitement on Saturday night. The entire family went to get the mail. WOOHOO!

The kids had a lot of fun finding pine cones and running ahead. Ray had fun chasing them, and I had fun taking pictures.
