This guy Peter has received this faith by the righteousness of God. Phenomenal! No really. Listen to that again: by the righteousness of God! How did you receive the faith? Are you getting this? Phenomenal, but it doesn't stop there!

His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness... That is cool! I really don't think you are getting this. God's divine power has granted us some stuff pertaining to life and godliness. NO!!!! EVERYTHING! That is so much cooler than the mock alien saucer our welders built on the hill to give the local reporters something to talk about. That is even cooler than my coffee loving brother-in-law. But again, he doesn't stop there, he goes on to tell us how God gave us the answers to the test... through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Phenomenal!

For by these...

Hold your horses. Stop right there! For by what? Dad Cobb says that it could be by God's divine power or more likely it's by His own glory and excellence...

He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

Are the aliens intercepting these transmissions? Is the coffee interfering with your ability to compute? Precious and magnificent promises? Partakers of the divine nature? Having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust? I have gotta go back through that a second time. I can escape the corruption of the world by being a partaker of the divine nature because God has granted to me His precious and magnificent promises! Am I the only one who thinks this is phenomenal?

If you'll let me I'm gonna skip a verse and come back to it. I'm only doing this because the aliens are telling me to; it has nothing to do with coffee consumption. Just know that the verse I skipped is gonna give us a list of qualities.

For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So there are these qualities you can possess, but they also should be growing. And if you've got both, then you are useful and fruitful in... the TRUE KNOWLEDGE. Stop the percolator! Holy flying saucers, Batman! Are you with me?!? What did we just learn about the true knowledge? Through the true knowledge we have the answers to the test. Phenomenal!

But back to the qualities I skipped.

Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.

Probably if I'd had a pot of coffee this morning, I could probably spend all day writing about these 8 qualities, but just for tin foiling this blog just look at those qualities for a minute. Okay, not quite a full minute. No seriously, come back now.

For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.

I'm running out of caffeine, but no less phenomenally excited, but did you catch all of that? Read it again. Getting and growing in true knowledge means you will NEVER stumble. Phenomenal!!
